Welcome to My New Website!

I’m so happy you stopped by. To give you a little background about me, I’m a writer of psychological thrillers and Women’s Fiction, a lawyer, and a lover of tea. Seriously, there’s nothing like a steamy cup of hot tea to calm the mind and warm the heart, right? Okay, maybe a glass of Chardonnay from time to time would do the trick too. But beverages aren’t really the focus of this blog. Although if I do discover an amazing new tea flavor, be prepared to hear about it!

The main purpose of this blog is to talk about all things writing. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to be a writer. Growing up, words were magical. I was fascinated by their rhythm, their sound, their meaning. To me, stringing words together was like playing an instrument. Reading them aloud, like singing a song. As a child, I would often march into our beige-carpeted living room and announce I was going to write a book. Then, I’d proceed up the stairs to my bedroom and scribble out a story in grape-scented marker. These tales never amounted to book length manuscripts, but nonetheless, I felt proud. Proud of creating something with the power of words. Throughout high school and college, I turned to poetry for comfort and to help me understand the changing world both around and within me.

But as I got older, I lost touch with the beauty and magic of language. Pulled into the pressure of work, I forgot the joy I had for reading and writing fiction. Until on a crisp fall day many years ago, I sat down at the kitchen table and declared to the empty room, “I’m going to write a novel.”

And while that novel turned into the proverbial manuscript in a drawer, I haven’t stopped writing and learning about writing since.

It is my hope that through this blog, I can share some of what I’ve learned along the way. Please continue to check back here and sign up for my newsletter where I will share book reviews, author interviews, giveaways, and my experiences with both the joys and challenges of the writing life. I can also be found on social media. Check out my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. I’d love to connect!

Thanks so much again for stopping by!
